La Costeña (NIS, Managua) resumed scheduled operations on five routes in Nicaragua on June 26, it said via Facebook.
The carrier is currently operating from Managua to Siuna and Bonanza (2x weekly), Puerto Cabezas (3x weekly), Waspam (weekly), and Corn Island via Bluefields (3x weekly).
La Costeña has continued to operate limited operations through the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic but eventually suspended them on May 26, 2020. It operates two ATR42-300s and five Cessna (single turboprop) C208B Grand Caravans.
All airports in Nicaragua remain closed to scheduled international operations.

Avianca Holdings has confirmed it has now completed its divestiture from its subsidiaries La Costeña (NIS, Managua) in Nicaragua and SANSA - Servicios Aéreos Nacionales (RZ, San José Juan Santamaría) in Costa Rica.
The Panama-based holding firm said in a stock market filing that pursuant to its original notification in late April, its subsidiary Grupo Taca Holdings (GTH) had concluded the sale of its 68% stake in Bahamas-based Turboprop Leasing Company Ltd. to Delaware-based Regional Airline Holding LLC.
Turboprop Leasing Co. owns 100% of the shares of Little Plane Six Limited (Bahamas) and Servicios Aéreos Nacionales S.A. (Costa Rica) t/a SANSA - Servicios Aéreos Nacionales.
Similarly, Avianca Holdings' Nicaragüense de Aviación S.A. (NICA) unit has concluded the sale of its 68.08% stake in Aerotaxis La Costeña S.A. t/a La Costeña to Regional Airline Holding LLC.
The terms of the sale, let alone who Regional Airline Holdings' owners are, were not disclosed.
