Austrian Airlines (OS, Vienna) has given up its Salzburg-Dusseldorf Intl and Vienna-Dresden routes on January 8 and has replaced its own flights from Vienna to Tbilisi by a codeshare agreement with Georgian Airways (A9/Tbilisi). It has however introduced new routes this summer: Vienna-Baghdad: 3x weekly A320-200 service has started on June 8 (had been postponed several times) Vienna-Florence: daily Fokker 70 service has started on March 27 (operated by Tyrolean Airways (VO/Innsbruck), in addition to one-stop via Bologna Marconi) Vienna-Volos: weekly seasonal Fokker 100 service has started on June 11 (operated by Tyrolean Airways) Austrian has added a ninth ex-LTU International Airways (LT/Dusseldorf Intl) A320-200. Lufthansa (LH/Frankfurt Intl) subsidiaries Austrian Airlines, bmi british midland (BD/East Midlands) and Swiss (LX/Zurich) have been added to the trans-atlantic joint venture of its parent with Star Alliance carriers Air Canada (AC/Montreal Trudeau), Continental Airlines (CO/Houston Intcl) and United Airlines (UA/Chicago O’Hare).
