Swift Air (United States of America) (Greensboro Piedmont Triad International) has announced that it intends to rebrand itself as iAero Airways (WQ, Greensboro Piedmont Triad International) following its recent takeover by the iAero Group, a Miami International-based integrated aviation platform business backed by private equity.

A filing with the US Department of Transportation (DOT) says the Arizona-based passenger charter specialist made the application on September 9. However, Swift said that at present time, it intends to retain its corporate name - Swift Air, LLC - and therefore does not seek the reissuance of its operating licences and certificates which cover interstate and foreign air charter flights ferrying persons, property, and mail.

According to the ch-aviation fleets module, Swift Air operates an in-house fleet of seven B737-300s, one B737-300(F), twenty-one B737-400s, and five B737-800s. At present, its customers include United States Department of Homeland Security (charters two B737-300s and two B737-400s), JPATS (charters one B737-400), Sunwing Airlines (wet-leases three B737-400s), and Smartwings (Czechia) (wet-leases five B737-800s).
