GoJet Airlines (G7, St. Louis Lambert International) has announced it has reached an agreement with United Airlines (UA, Chicago O'Hare) to add 20 incremental CRJ550s by 2021, bringing the total number of the type to be operated under the United Express brand to 74.

The 20 additional units will start delivering in summer 2020.

"United's decision to add more of these aircraft so quickly after the initial product launch is indicative of their long-term commitment to both the CRJ550 platform and to GoJet. We look forward to growing this exciting program with United," President and Chief Executive Rick Leach said.

GoJet Airlines is the world's only operator of the CRJ550, a 50-seater version of the CRJ700. It launched the type's operations in October 2019 and, according to the ch-aviation fleets module, has so far converted 24 aircraft.

The aircraft are deployed out of Chicago O'Hare and New York Newark on predominantly domestic routes, although they also serve Toronto Pearson. In summer 2020, GoJet will also start basing the CRJ550s out of Washington Dulles.
