Allegiant Air (G4, Las Vegas Harry Reid) has announced a new base at Punta Gorda, FL, where it will base a single MD-80, and its first flights to Hawaii on April 10. It will serve Fort Wayne International, Niagara Falls, Peoria International and South Bend from Punta Gorda as of June 27. Allegiant will start operating to Honolulu from Fresno Yosemite and Las Vegas Harry Reid two days later. It had announced plans to start serving Hawaii over 2 years ago which at the time was given as the reason for adding B757-200s to the fleet.
