LOT Polish Airlines (LO, Warsaw Chopin) is taking delivery of its first B787-8 SP-LRA (MSN 35938) in Warsaw on Thursday, November 15. It is the second carrier after Qatar Airways (QR, Doha Hamad International) yesterday being able to welcome the first B787-8 at its homebase. LOT will initially deploy the aircraft on crew familiarization flights on its European network with flights scheduled from Warsaw to Brussels National, Budapest, Frankfurt International, Hannover, Kyiv Boryspil, London Heathrow, Munich, Prague Václav Havel and Vienna. Its first long-haul flight to Chicago O'Hare is currently scheduled for January 16. It then also plans to use the B787-8s for its routes to Beijing Capital, New York JFK and Toronto Pearson.
