AirAsia (AK, Kuala Lumpur International) will become the first operator to operate an A320-200 with sharklets when it takes delivery of A320-200 9M-AQQ (c/n 5428) later this month. The wingtip devices called sharklets by Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) are expected to improve fuel efficiency of its A320 family by up to 3.5 percent on longer flights.
