Republic Airlines (Indianapolis International) has announced a contract with Embraer (EMB, São José dos Campos U.E. Stumpf International) for at least 47 E175s to be delivered from mid-2013 onwards. The deal is still subject to approval of a contract between American Airlines (AA, Dallas/Fort Worth) and Republic Airways Holdings by the AMR bankruptcy court. If approved, the aircraft would be operated by Republic under the American Eagle brand with options for additional 47 EMB-175s also part of the contract between Republic and Embraer. Republic currently already operates 38 EMB-175s for US Airways (Phoenix Sky Harbor) as US Airways Express.
