Wizz Air (W6, Budapest) is to start twice weekly flights from Budapest to Baku Heydar Aliev International from June 17. The flights to the Azerbaijani capital follow the Hungarian LCC’s previously announced Eastern expansion into countries such as Ukraine, Israel, Georgia and the United Arab Emirates, with a possible Russian entry also rumored to be coming in 2014. Wizz Air will be the first European low-cost carrier serving Azerbaijan, Baku is already served by flydubai (FZ, Dubai International) three times weekly from Dubai.
