Nepal Airlines (RA, Kathmandu) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) for the purchase of two sharklet-equipped A320-200s as part of its fleet modernization plan. According to the airline, the A320 was selected owing to its "high-altitude performance", a critical aspect given Nepal's mountainous terrain. While no exact date for delivery has been given, the two aircraft will join the Nepali-national carrier's fleet of two B757-200s and several DHC-6s (with two Yunshuji Y-7s also on order), used to serve 25 domestic and four international destinations.
