Ryanair (FR, Dublin International) CEO Michael O'Leary has outlined some of his airline's longterm expansion plans at the recently held AGM in Dublin. According to Mr O'Leary, Ryanair is considering flying to Israel, Egypt and North Africa "even if growth in the next five years will largely focus on western Europe." The launch of Tunisia, Libya, Algeria and Egypt flights however, will largely hinge on the signing of Open Skies treaties between the European Union and those countries respectively. Ryanair also remains interested in flying to the US under a new brand once new wide-body planes are more affordable, the airline's chief said. In a departure from previous policy, the LCC will also open itself to co-operation with long-haul carriers but did not disclose which.
