AirAsia X (D7, Kuala Lumpur International) is currently reviewing the potential of operating long-haul flights from Angeles City Clark International in cooperation with AirAsia Zest (Manila Ninoy Aquino International) according to the latter's new chairman Michael Romero. While AirAsia Philippines (Manila Ninoy Aquino International) has abandoned the airport to operate in cooperation with AirAsia Zest from Manila concentrating on domestic flights and international services to Malaysia and South Korea. Romero hopes to launch long-haul flights from Clark within 2 or 3 years operating to destinations in Australia, Europe and possibly the United States.
