Jetstar Japan (GK, Tokyo Narita) has received a AUD120million (USD113.6million) equity injection from shareholders, Qantas (QF, Sydney Kingsford Smith) and JAL - Japan Airlines (JL, Tokyo Haneda), to help finance the LCC's fleet and infrastructure expansion plans. The investment will increase Qantas and Japan Airlines’ economic interest from 41.7% each to 45.7% each. Mitsubishi Corporation and Century Tokyo Leasing will reduce their respective stakes to 4.3% each, down from 8.3% each. Jetstar Japan commenced operations on July 1, 2012 and now operates a fleet of 18 A320-200s to nine domestic Japanese destinations. The airline expects to grow its fleet to 24 aircraft, with funding for each aircraft already secured.
