Air France (AF, Paris CDG) is mulling converting two outstanding orders for the A380-800 into smaller, more suitable models, CEO Alexandre de Juniac, has said. Mr Juniac said the aircraft affected are those whose delivery has already been deferred to 2016. “The two remaining A380s have been postponed to 2016,” de Juniac told The Montreal Gazette as he reported earnings. “We are still in the process of thinking of what we are doing with those.” Discussions with Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) will take place over whether to take or replace them and are not urgent, he said. The French carrier had originally ordered twelve A380-800s of which nine have thus far been delivered with another due in 2014. The type is used on flights to Johannesburg O.R. Tambo, New York JFK, Los Angeles International, Shanghai Pudong, Tokyo Narita and Washington Dulles.
