Sudan Airways (SD, Khartoum) was the first foreign carrier to resume international services to the newly remodelled and reopened Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport on November 6. The flight, inbound from Khartoum, touched down at 09h00L. Turkish Airlines (TK, Istanbul Airport) is scheuled to commence services via N'Djamena on December 12 while Emirates (EK, Dubai International) and Ethiopian Airlines (ET, Addis Ababa International) have reportedly expressed an interest in launching their own flights. In light of recent unrest in the north of Nigeria, Kano, the region's commercial hub, has suffered the most with numerous international carriers, among them KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KL, Amsterdam Schiphol) and Saudi Arabian Airlines (Jeddah International), having withdrawn from the route.
