DHL Aviation (South Africa) (DHV, Johannesburg Lanseria) has added three aircraft to their West African operations – a B757-200PF and two ATR 72-200(F)/-500(F)/-600Fs wet-leased from Farnair Switzerland (Basel/Mulhouse/Freiburg, CH). The two ATR72s, each with a capacity of 7 tonnes, will connect countries including Senegal, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Cote d’Ivoire, Mali and Mauritania while the B757 freighter will be used to operate a new weekly Dakar Yoff-Léopold Sédar Senghor International to Brussels National service offering a capacity of over 25 tons. The express operator, which already has a hub and gateway in Lagos, Nigeria, also opened a new airside facility in Dakar Yoff-Léopold Sédar Senghor International, Senegal, in early November to handle transit volumes. The facility will handle freight destined for Senegal and transit material destined for the region.
