American Airlines (AA, Dallas/Fort Worth) will allow its employees to decide on a new livery for the airline following the recent consummation of its merger with US Airways (Phoenix Sky Harbor). “Our livery should represent the American brand well - it should be professional, and it should be cost efficient-but it is not a make-or-break decision for our airline,” CEO Doug Parker, said in a letter to employees. There are two options available: one is to keep the current logo that American adopted earlier this year while the other would be to return American's long-standing AA "Eagle" logo to the tail of its planes. The vote comes as the airline says it must come to a decision since "as we now have more than 620 US Airways and US Airways Express aircraft that need to be painted in an American Airlines livery." Employees have until 12pm on January 2, 2014 to vote for their preference.
