Cathay Pacific (CX, Hong Kong International) has ordered a B747-8F and three B777-300ERs from Boeing (BOE, Washington National) in a deal valued at USD1billion at current list prices. The Hong Kong-based carrier recently announced an agreement with the US manufacturers for twenty-one B777-9X aircraft. "These two aircraft types will form the backbone of our long-haul passenger and freighter fleets through to the end of the decade, " said John Slosar, Chief Executive of Cathay Pacific. Cathay Pacific currently operates thirteen 747-8(F)s and thirty-eight B777-300(ER)s.
