Virgin America (San Francisco) is reportedly in talks with banks over a planned initial public offering (IPO) that could take place as early as this year. According to Sky News, the flotation could see the regional carrier being valued at USD1.655billion. Last year, the carrier posted its first consecutive quarterly profit since its founding in 2007. In terms of its shareholding, Virgin Atlantic (VS, London Heathrow) parent, Virgin Group has a 25% stake in Virgin America with the rest owned by investment fund, Cyrus Capital, and senior executives.
