Southwest Airlines (WN, Dallas Love Field) will expand its presence out of Dallas Love Field once the Wright Amendment is officially repealed on October 13 this year. Southwest will begin serving five new nonstop destinations on October 13 - Baltimore International, Denver International, Las Vegas Harry Reid, Orlando International, and Chicago Midway - followed by ten additional new nonstop destinations - Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson, Nashville International, Washington National, Fort Lauderdale International, Los Angeles International, New York La Guardia, Phoenix Sky Harbor, San Diego International, Santa Ana, CA and Tampa International - on November 2. The addition of these 15 new nonstop destinations will bring Southwest to a total of 31 nonstop destinations served from Love Field. Passed in 1979, the Wright Amendment and its subsequent revisions, limit Southwest Airlines' services from Dallas Love Field to nine states including Texas. The repeal of the federal law now allows Southwest to potentially serve an additional 41 states and the District of Columbia (Reagan National airport) from the Dallas airport.
