Air New Zealand (NZ, Auckland International) will operate its last B747-400 flight on September 10 between San Francisco and Auckland International WorldAirlineNews has reported. A formal farewell flight between Auckland and Sydney Kingsford Smith is also scheduled for September 6.
The ch-aviation aircraft database lists the carrier's last B747s as ZK-NBV (msn 26910) and ZK-SUH (msn 24896) which collectively average 19.3 years of age. The quadjets, currently used on flights to Brisbane International, Nadi, Rarotonga, San Francisco and Sydney, will be replaced with two B777-300ERs set to arrive in July and October of this year.
