Delta Air Lines (DL, Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson) has ordered fifteen A321-200 (SL)s from Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) bringing its total backlog of A320 family aircraft to forty-five A321s and ten A330-300s. The airline has selected CFM56-5B motors to power the aircraft, which are scheduled for delivery starting in 2018.

Delta currently operates a large fleet of Airbus aircraft, including 126 A320 Family aircraft and thirty-two A330s.
