Eastern Airways (T3, Humberside) terminated its Dijon operations on June 4 after local Côte-d'Or authorities announced the closure of the airport facility. The airline had offered flights to both Bordeaux Mérignac and Toulouse Blagnac.

In a statement, the British carrier said it was "extremely disappointed" that the Burgundy Regional Council had not considered existing operator's interests when making their decision to close the airport.

“Eastern Airways had made considerable efforts to find a solution to operate the scheduled services beyond 4 June 2014, however, we had not been able to reach an agreement with the local and regional authorities involved," it said.

The closure can, in part, be attributed to a French Ministry of Defense decision to withdraw 350 military personnel from the airfield, which had also doubled as an air base.
