Zimbabwe flyafrica (Harare International) officially launched scheduled operations on Friday, August 1, following a week-long delay effected by the Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe (CAAZ). On the eve of its launch on July 23, the CAAZ revoked the airline’s South African pilots’ flight validations resulting in the week-long delay.

As it stands, the LCC operates a 3x weekly Victoria Falls to Johannesburg O.R. Tambo service on-board a fleet of ex-CSA Czech Airlines (Prague Václav Havel) B737-500s. In line with its business model, flyafrica intends to expand the route to a multiple-daily frequency while adding new routes between Harare International, Bulawayo, Maputo, and Lusaka.
