People's Viennaline (Altenrhein) is set to add a second E170 to its fleet later this year. In its report, the Thurgauer Zeitung newspaper says the airline, as a result of certification issues, will not use the aircraft for flights from Altenrhein to London City as originally planned. Instead, it will base the twinjet at some other undisclosed European city for regional flights that will include Vienna.

For its part, the ever determined Altenrhein airport, also known under its trading name as the People's Business Airport, has not relented in its pursuit for London City flights and is now in talks with four unspecified carriers over the proposal.
