Royal Air Maroc (AT, Casablanca Mohammed V) took delivery of its first B787-8, CN-RGB (msn 43817), at a ceremony held at Casablanca Mohammed V on Saturday, January 3, 2015. The aircraft is part of an order with Boeing (BOE, Washington National) for four, the second of which msn 43818 is due in March with the rest due in 2016.
RAM will deploy the aircraft into revenue service on flights to Paris Orly, Jeddah International, Algiers, New York JFK and Montréal Trudeau initially with new routes to Dubai International and China to roll out as more B787s arrive.
Though the Moroccan national carrier was among the very first to commit to the Dreamliner when it placed its order back in 2005, it later chose to defer their delivery when the type's first teething problems began to emerge in 2011. The carrier's initial pair of "terrible teen" B787s - msn 35507 and msn 35508 - are now destined for RwandAir (WB, Kigali).
