Ryanair (FR, Dublin International) will transfer five Rome Ciampino-based routes to Rome Fiumicino beginning this summer. The ItaliaVola flight blog states Bari, Brindisi, Comiso, Marseilles, and Sevilla are the destinations affected.
In related news, Vueling Airlines (VY, Barcelona El Prat) has thrown in the towel and will give up its domestic routes from Fiumicino to Bari, Brindisi and Lamezia Terme from January 12. It competes with Alitalia (AZA, Rome Fiumicino) and Ryanair on all three routes.
