Nepal Airlines (RA, Kathmandu) and other international airlines serving Kathmandu have resumed their services there after a Turkish Airlines (TK, Istanbul Airport) A330-300, which had been blocking the airport's runway 02/20 since last week, was successfully removed.

In a statement, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) said TC-JOC (cn 1522), which had skidded off the runway while rolling out on Wednesday, March 4, has now been moved to the airfield's apron where it is awaiting further inspection.

The Times of India reports Indian Air Force technicians and a transport plane helped clear the runway following requests by the Nepalese government. As such, the airfield will now operate 24 hours a day to help cope with the resulting traffic backlog.
