Hainan Airlines (HU, Haikou) has signed a long term lease agreement with Los Angeles-based lessor Air Lease Corporation (ALC) for two B787-9s slated to arrive in spring 2016. The two widebody jets are sourced from ALC's Boeing (BOE, Washington National) order book and will be the first delivered.
Last month, Hainan announced it would sell off stock to raise CNY24 billion (USD3.86 billion) in capital to, among others things, acquire thirty-seven new aircraft including A330s, B737s, and B787s.
