China Eastern Airlines (MU, Shanghai Hongqiao) has announced it has signed longterm lease agreements with Air Lease Corporation (ALC) for three B737-800s. Sourced from ALC’s order book with Boeing (BOE, Washington National), the twinjets are scheduled for delivery in 2016.

“We have worked closely with China Eastern Airlines’ management team to develop long term jet aircraft leasing programs to optimize their fleet," Michael Bai, Vice President of Air Lease Corporation, said. "The airline has already leased 15 new Airbus and Boeing jets from ALC, all of which have been delivered to the airline. The three additional 737-800s announced today bring the total to eighteen aircraft."
