Delta Air Lines (DL, Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson) narrowbody fleet expansion plans are in jeopardy after its pilot corps voted 65 percent to 35 percent to reject a tentative Collective Labour Agreement (CLA) negotiated by management and union representatives of the Delta chapter of the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA) last month.

Delta had tied the purchase of twenty E190s and forty B737-900(ER)s to the CLA's ratification.

According to the Dallas Morning News, the vote ended 3,766 in favour and 6,947 against. Those pilots against reportedly had concerns about the CLA's plans to raise pilot pay but to the detriment of their profit-sharing.

A special meeting of the Delta ALPA Master Executive Council is scheduled for July 21.
