KLM Cityhopper (WA, Amsterdam Schiphol) has firmed up options for two more E175s. The aircraft are part of a 2015 deal between the KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KL, Amsterdam Schiphol) subsidiary and Embraer (EMB, São José dos Campos U.E. Stumpf International) involving seventeen firm orders (fifteen EMB-175s and two E190s) and seventeen options (all for the EMB-175). As such, with this announcement, cityhopper's portfolio now stands at fifteen options.

“We are pleased to confirm the options for two additional Embraer EMB-175s,” said Pieter Elbers, President and CEO KLM. "They will join the thirty EMB-190s already flying with KLM cityhopper. The EMB175 will be configured in a single-class layout with differentiated pitches to accommodate for European Business Class, Economy Comfort and Economy Class. With the leather upholstery this makes the Embraer extremely comfortable for our passengers."

KLM cityhopper expects to commence EMB-175 operations in March with the type to gradually replace the Dutch regional carrier's fleet of eighteen Fokker 70s by 2018.
