Wizz Air (W6, Budapest) has confirmed plans to establish a base at Kutaisi, its first in the former Soviet republic of Georgia. Effective September 23 of this year, the LCC will base one A320-200 at the airport for use in launching new services to: Milan Bergamo, Berlin Schönefeld, Dortmund, Larnaca, Memmingen, Sofia, and Thessaloniki.
Wizz Air currently serves Budapest, Katowice Pyrzowice, Vilnius, and Warsaw Chopin from Kutaisi, Georgia's second largest city.
