As recently predicted by ch-aviation, Ryanair (FR, Dublin International) will indeed open a second base in Lithuania later this year with news it will base a pair of B737-800s at Vilnius with effect from October 30.
Together, the two aircraft will be used to add additional flights to Milan Bergamo while opening two new routes to Berlin Schönefeld and Malta International during the 2016/17 winter season.
The base compliments the Irish LCC's other existing Lithuanian base - Kaunas International - where another two B737-800s are currently based.
Other bases expected to roll out later in the year include Sofia and Prague Václav Havel.
