Himalaya Airlines (H9, Kathmandu) has commenced operations with a one-off return VIP charter flight from Kathmandu to Beijing Capital, China this past weekend. On-board the flight was a Nepalese government delegation headed by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
The start-up recently took delivery of its maiden jet, A320-200 (SL) 9N-ALM (cn 6626), from Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) at the beginning of the month.
Himalaya Airlines hopes to begin scheduled passenger flights to Delhi International and Doha Hamad International on April 12 with additional regional destinations to follow during the rest of the year.
