Hong Kong Airlines (HX, Hong Kong International) has taken delivery of its first A350-900 following the arrival of B-LGA (msn 124) at Hong Kong International on Thursday, August 31.

The aircraft is one of four being leased from AerCap with the HNA Group unit expecting a total of twenty-one of the type to arrive in future. The twinjets will feature a total of 334 seats including 33 in business class, 108 in premium economy, and 193 in economy.

According to an airline statement, B-LGA will begin revenue operations on September 10 with crew training and familiarization flights to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi followed by Taipei Taoyuan and Shanghai Pudong. Thereafter, A350 service to Los Angeles International will begin on December 18.

During the course of 2018, Hong Kong Airlines intends to use the A350 to develop more long-haul services in the United States and Europe including San Francisco and New York JFK as well as London.
