Spanair (Barcelona El Prat) has launched twice weekly A320-200/MD-87 service from Palma de Mallorca to Algiers on June 21. It has however given up its Madrid-Vigo route on March 28 and has not launched its planned Barcelona-Almeria services. Spanair and Star Alliance partner Air Canada (AC/Montreal Trudeau) have entered into a codeshare agreement that covers the new Air Canada services from Toronto Pearson to Madrid and domestic connections services from both airports. It now also has put its code on Lufthansa (LH/Frankfurt Intl) services from Barcelona and Madrid to Milan Malpensa.
