Northern Cyprus Turkish Airlines (Istanbul Atatürk) is the name of a new start-up backed by the government of Northern Cyprus that is planning to replace the void left by the bankruptcy of Cyprus Turkish Airlines last year. While the carrier was originally expected to already launch operations in spring, it currently remains unclear when operations are expected to be launched and to what extent private investors can be found for the project. Turkish Airlines (TK/Istanbul Atatürk) has reportedly announced its interest in a 10% minority stake in the new carrier.
