US's GLOBALX authorised to grow fleet, eyes new capital
15.05.2023 - 18:02 UTCGLOBALX (G6, Miami International) The US Department of Transportation has given GB AirLink (Fort Lauderdale International) the go-ahead to grow its fleet to 16 aircraft, opening the door for more A320-200s and A321-200 freighters to arrive in 2023. The airline also plans to take its first A319-100 in June 2023.
"This increased authorisation will allow us to continue the execution of our 2023 business plan to add up to two more A320 passenger aircraft and two A321 freighters later this year, subject to FAA approvals. This is in addition to one A319 passenger aircraft and one A321 freighter that are being added to the fleet in the next 30 days, bringing the current fleet to 12 aircraft," Chairman and Chief Executive Ed Wegel said.
The ch-aviation fleets advanced module shows GLOBALX currently operates seven A320-200s, two A321-200s, and one A321-200(P2F). It plans to add the first A321-200(PCF), N411GX (msn 1438), by the end of May 2023, followed by a first A319, N285GX (msn 1936), next month....
Canada's Lynx Air to wet-lease A320ceo

The ch-aviation fleets advanced module shows that GLOBALX operates A320ceo Family aircraft exclusively - currently, six A320-200s and three A321-200s. It intends to add an A319-100 and also operates a single A321-200(P2F) freighter. The carrier focuses on the charter market but also operates as a wet-lessor.
In turn, the Canadian ultra-low-cost carrier operates six B737-8s. It plans to grow its fleet to ten B737 MAX by the end of 2023, as recently outlined by Chief Executive Officer and President Merren McArthur in an interview with ch-aviation, and then to forty-six aircraft in the next four to five years.
GLOBALX, TUI fly revive summer ACMI after 2022 flop
05.04.2023 - 11:56 UTCTUI fly (Netherlands) (OR, Amsterdam Schiphol) has signed a multi-year wet lease commitment with the United States' GLOBALX (G6, Miami International) covering two A320-200s for three consecutive summer years.
The Dutch unit of TUI Group will base the two aircraft out of Amsterdam Schiphol in July and August of 2023, 2024, and 2025.
"Each year TUI and its airlines require extra aircraft capacity to match the high season demand in our European markets. GLOBALX offers a perfect match and we are happy to work with them to fly our guests into their holidays," TUI's head of aviation leases, Roel Martens, said.
The Dutch leisure airline operates six B737-8s, two B767-300ERs, and three B787-8s. It also wet-leases one B737-800 from sister carrier TUI fly (Belgium), according to the ch-aviation fleets advanced module.

US's Red Way to debut ops with GLOBALX jets in late 2Q23
04.04.2023 - 13:50 UTCNebraskan virtual budget carrier Red Way (Lincoln, NE) is scheduled to debut on June 8, 2023, from its home base at Lincoln, NE with charter-by-the-seat flights to Las Vegas Harry Reid and Orlando International, and five more routes to "popular vacation spots" around the country to follow within two weeks, according to an announcement by the airport.
The flights are sold by Red Way, acting as the sales agent on behalf of public charter operator GlobalX Air Tours while GLOBALX (G6, Miami International) will be the production carrier, using some of its leased fleet of six A320-200s and five A321-200s, an announcement on the virtual carrier's website said.
According to the website booking engine, the additional routes to follow will include:
- from June 16: 2x weekly to Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson, Dallas/Fort Worth, and Minneapolis/St. Paul;
- from June 24: 2x weekly to Austin-Bergstrom International and Nashville International.
