Colombia's Avianca Cargo to add A330-300(P2F)s
26.05.2022 - 22:15 UTCAvianca Cargo (QT, Medellín José Maria Córdova) is planning to add between two and four A330-300(P2F)s, its first converted freighters, with the first two units now due from CDB Aviation.
"We are pleased to announce the arrival of these aircraft to our cargo fleet. With their incorporation, we will not only offer greater capacity, but also an increasingly robust and flexible route network focused on the needs of our customers and facilitating trade between Latin America and the entire world," Chief Executive Gabriel Oliva said.
The Colombian carrier said the freighters would deliver over the next two years, with the first unit due by the end of 2022. It did not identify the aircraft.
Avianca Cargo does not currently operate any aircraft in-house. Its six production A330-200Fs, all of which are leased from Castlelake, are placed on the AOC of Colombian subsidiary TAMPA Cargo (QT, Medellín José Maria Córdova), while Mexican subsidiary AeroUnion (6R, México City Int'l) operates two A300-600Fs on behalf of the holding....

Canada’s Jetlines eyes Toronto summer launch
12.04.2022 - 19:44 UTCSix weeks after taking delivery of its first aircraft, a A320-200, Canadian leisure start-up Jetlines (CJL, Toronto Pearson) has announced it will launch charter-flight operations out of Toronto Pearson in summer 2022.
Parent company Canada Jetlines Operations Ltd said in a statement on April 7 that the carrier would operate at Canada’s biggest airport by capacity “with a fleet of Airbus family aircraft, starting with the A320,” to international destinations in the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean. It did not, however, specify a more exact date. Other cities in Canada will follow.
The partnership with the airport “will allow us to better service both domestic and international travellers to and from Canada’s busiest airport,” said Jetlines CEO Eddy Doyle.
The “well-capitalised leisure-focused carrier” will start commercial flight operations subject to Transport Canada approval as the start-up continues to work on its certification drive.
