Viet Nam’s CAA urges fleet ceiling rise to 234 aircraft
11.01.2023 - 01:02 UTCThe Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has submitted a proposal to the country’s Ministry of Transport for permission to increase the total fleet size of Vietnamese airlines to 234 aircraft to meet domestic demand as well as to tap into opportunities in the recovering international market, the state-run Vietnam News Agency reported.
In the document, the authority stressed that more aircraft are needed to satisfy demand during the upcoming Tết lunar new year holiday, set to take place this year around January 22.
It suggested that the number should not exceed the 234 mark recorded during the festival in the pre-pandemic month of January 2020, but it also proposed that airlines be allowed to increase their fleets to surpass that figure later this year, based on forecasts for growth in market demand, airport infrastructure, carriers’ operating and maintenance capacity, and the CAAV’s own safety supervision capacity.

Jetstar finally accedes to Singapore terminal move
06.12.2022 - 02:17 UTCThe Jetstar Group of airlines has confirmed it will switch from Terminal 1 at Singapore's Changi Airport to Terminal 4 on March 22, 2023. The announcement follows months of talks between the airline group and Changi Airport Group (CAG) after the low-cost carriers initially resisted the move.

When CAG flagged the move several months ago, Jetstar was critical of what they called the "unilateral" decision and said it wouldn't happen until an agreement was nutted out. The Jetstar airlines have used the airport for over 15 years.
Terminal 4 reopened in September after a two-year closure. Airlines currently using the five-year old facility include Cathay Pacific, Korean Air Bamboo Airways, Vietnam Airlines, Cebu Pacific Air, HK Express, Juneyao Airlines, Jeju...
