ASL Airlines UK adds first ATR72-500(F)
26.10.2023 - 09:25 UTCASL Airlines UK (ABV, Nottingham East Midlands) has taken delivery of its first ATR72-500(F), namely G-OASB (msn 679). It is the airline's third aircraft and, at the same time, a third type.
The 22.1-year-old turboprop was formerly operated by CSA Czech Airlines (OK, Prague Václav Havel) as a passenger aircraft and was retired in 2021 before being ferried to Sofia for P2F conversion on March 24, 2022. The ATR - Avions de Transport Régional unit was registered in the UK on October 18, 2023, but has yet to be ferried out of the Bulgarian capital. It is owned by ASL Aviation Holdings.
ASL Airlines UK also operates one ATR72-200(F) and one B737-800(BCF). The only other operator of ATR freighters in the ASL Aviation Holdings group is ASL Airlines Ireland (ABR, Dublin International).
