Emergency in Marshall Islands due to Asia Pacific grounding
20.03.2023 - 21:13 UTCThe president of the Marshall Islands, David Kabua, has declared a state of emergency in the country due to a shortage of goods caused by the grounding of Asia Pacific Airlines (Guam) (P9, Guam International) in early February 2023.
Radio New Zealand reported that with the airline grounded, the remote archipelagic country has struggled to import necessities from elsewhere. The national hospital in Majuro is reportedly suffering from a shortage of medical supplies, while local residents have not been receiving mail. The government is urgently looking to attract other airlines to provide vital air cargo connectivity to the islands.
The ch-aviation capacities module shows that Air Marshall Islands (CWM, Majuro) provides exclusively domestic connectivity between the various islands, while Majuro and Kwajalein see limited international connectivity provided by United Airlines and Nauru Airlines.

Guam's Asia Pacific Airlines retires last B727
25.06.2020 - 01:06 UTCAsia Pacific Airlines (Guam) (P9, Guam International) retired its last B727-200(F) on June 20, 2020, and has now transitioned to an all-B757 fleet, The Guam Daily Post has reported.
N705AA (msn 22462), a 39.1-year-old trijet, was ferried from Guam International via Honolulu and Oakland to Kingman over the course of June 20-21, Flightradar24 ADS-B data shows. It joined two other ex-Asia Pacific Airlines B727(F)s in storage at the facility in Arizona.
General Manager Edward Cho said that the airline would be replacing the freighters with more B757s to respond to the growing demand for cargo capacity in the Asia-Pacific region.
"The significance of that is the progression from the old APA to the new. We’re growing and building," Cho underlined.
According to the ch-aviation fleets advanced module, the Guamanian cargo specialist currently operates three B757-200(PCF)s, which are 27.9 years old on average.
