US's Northern Pacific Airways completes certification
10.07.2023 - 21:37 UTCNorthern Pacific Airways (7H, Anchorage Ted Stevens) is gearing up for its first commercial flight between Ontario International, California and Las Vegas Harry Reid on July 14, after securing outstanding operations specifications (Ops Specs) for its B757-200s, Chief Executive Officer Rob McKinney has confirmed to ch-aviation.
The carrier will use the Air Carrier Certificate (ACC) of its sister company, Ravn Alaska (7H, Anchorage Ted Stevens), when it debuts the weekly seasonal scheduled flights, the start of which was initially planned for June 2. Its fleet comprises four inhouse B757-200s, according to the ch-aviation fleets advanced module.
Plans have been adapted several times since the carrier's establishment was first mooted in July 2021. Icelandair confirms order for 13+4 A321neo(XLR)s
10.07.2023 - 15:33 UTCIcelandair (FI, Reykjavik Keflavik) has firmed an April 2023 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus for thirteen A321-200NY(XLR)s while at the same time, agreeing to lease four A321-200NX(LR)s to accelerate the long-range narrowbody's type induction.
"We are very pleased to announce that we have now finalized the purchase agreement with Airbus. The efficient A321neo(XLR) aircraft will further strengthen our business model, increase our flexibility and provide opportunities for future growth, as well as further support our sustainability efforts. The first aircraft is scheduled for delivery in 2029, but we plan to have four Airbus aircraft in operation before the summer of 2025 and have now secured the lease of new A321-200NX(LR) aircraft with our long-term partner SMBC Aviation Capital," Chief Executive Bogi Nils Bogason said.
The leased aircraft will start delivering in the fourth quarter of 2024.
