LOT Polish Airlines (LO, Warsaw Chopin) has announced that it will comply with FAA and EASA directives and has temporarily ceased operations with its two B787-8s as of January 16 after having operated its first transatlantic flight from Warsaw to Chicago O'Hare yesterday with SP-LRA (MSN 35938). Its second aircraft SP-LRB (MSN 37894) is currently grounded at Warsaw and undergoing checks. EASA had followed the recommendations by the FAA this morning and issued a directive to ground all B787-8 operations until a corrective action plan has been developed with Boeing and the FAA and implemented by the only European operator LOT.
