Air Contractors (Dublin International) subsidiary, Air Contractors Engineering Ltd, has confirmed it is considering closing its ATR Base Maintenance Facility at Edinburgh as its lease of the hangar facility at the airport is due to expire by the end of this month. Opened in 2002, the MRO workshop specializes in ATR42 & ATR72 Base Maintenance, Flight Control Exchange, Airframe component repair/overhaul and Line Maintenance. According to Air Contractors parent ASL Aviation Group, negotiations are still taking place with the Edinburgh Airport Authority regarding a potential extension of the lease agreement. In the meantime, a consultation process with the facility's staff has started with ASL exploring various options including a possible relocation of a scaled down facility to another location.
