Bryan Bedford, the CEO of Republic Airways Holdings Inc., has told employees that the firm is looking to complete the consolidation of its operations by the end of the current year.

In an internal circular seen by Aviation Week, Bedford said the company aimed to end 2016 with a single Air Operators Certificate (AOC) and a single fleet type. As part of the move, Republic Holdings completed the absorption of its Chautauqua Airlines (Indianapolis International) unit into Shuttle America (Fort Wayne International) in 2014 thus leaving it with two AOCs - that of Shuttle America and Republic Airlines (Indianapolis International).

Operationally, Republic Airlines is in the process of shifting to an all-Embraer (EMB, São José dos Campos Professor Urbano Ernesto Stumpf) fleet with the impending retirement of its remaining fourteen Dash 8-400s. Alongside its twenty-four E170s and ninety-seven E175s, Shuttle America also operates fifty-three EMB-170s, sixteen EMB-175s, and forty-four ER4s.
