MCA Airlines (Stockholm Arlanda) has acquired Air Express Sweden (AEQ/Stockholm Arlanda) and has rebranded it as MCA Airlines. MCA did not previously have an own air operator certificate and has been using a MD-83 chartered from Sky Wings (GSW/Athens) that has recently been replaced by two MD-83s wet-leased from Dubrovnik Airline (DBK/Dubrovnik). It will continue to use Dubrovnik Airline MD-80s alongside the only remaining Air Express Fokker 100 (it has recently returned its second aircraft to the lessor) and has now also wet-leased an A320-200 from SmartLynx (6Y/Riga). MCA Airlines will continue to operate two ex-Air Express Saab 2000s on behalf of Blue 1 (KF/Helsinki) for the remainder of the summer timetable and is planning to phase out the two aircraft when the contract with Blue 1 expires.
