ANA - All Nippon Airways (NH, Tokyo Haneda) has announced it will cancel over 100 domestic Japanese flights over the period July 6 to 13 owing to a drawn-out Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 inspection schedule.

The carrier said in a statement on July 4 that the decision to withdraw select B787s from service follows an update from Rolls-Royce, issued last month, which warned that an Intermediate Pressure Compressor durability issue had been identified on a small number of high life Trent 1000 Package B engines.

"Over the last two years, we have been working very closely with Rolls-Royce and the regulatory authorities to minimize the impact to our flight schedule," ANA said. "However, due to the additional mandatory inspections which were announced in mid-June, we are cancelling a limited number of flights."

Routes, where select frequencies have been affected, include those from Tokyo Haneda to each of Osaka Itami, Fukuoka, Akita, Matsuyama, Hiroshima International, Okayama, Komatsu, Ishigaki, and Sapporo Chitose-Tokyo Haneda (on Monday, July 9). International flights will not be affected.
