Spanish ride-hailing app Cabify has partnered with on-demand helicopter charter specialist Voom (Mexico) to offer helicopter services in Mexico City.

The CabiFly (Cabify Air) service will initially cover only four destinations: México City International and Toluca airports, as well as heliports in Montes Urales and Interlomas commercial and business centres in the Mexican capital. The routes offered under the Cabify Air brand correspond to the services earlier proferred to the market by Voom itself.

Prices are set at between MXN2,500 and MXN4,500 pesos (USD135-240) for a one-way trip. Voom does not operate the aircraft itself but sources them from third-party operators. The service is operated on during the daytime from Monday to Friday. Users can seamlessly connect to land-based Cabify services prior to take-off and after arrival at their destination.

Voom is a start-up incubated by A^3, an Airbus technology unit based in the Silicon Valley. In March 2018, the company was fully acquired by Airbus Helicopters. Besides Mexico City, Voom (Brazil) also offers helicopter charter services in Sao Paulo in Brazil.
