Cayman Airways (KX, Grand Cayman Island) has announced it would deploy its incoming B737-8 aircraft on a new route to Denver International, the longest direct service ever operated by the airline.

The new seasonal route out of Grand Cayman Island is set to launch on March 2, 2019, and will operate 2x weekly.

"The introduction of the Denver route is a milestone for Cayman Airways as the longest scheduled commercial flight we’ve ever operated in the airline’s 50-year history. It is just the first of many benefits our national airline will achieve for our country with the Fleet Modernization Plan that will see our National Airline boast being the first Boeing 737-8 aircraft operator in the Caribbean," Chairman of the Board of Directors Phillip Rankin said.

The first of four B737-8s for Cayman Airways will deliver in November 2018. The airline's current jet fleet includes three B737-700s and one B737-800. Cayman Airways' US network at present encompasses Miami International, Tampa International, and New York JFK.

Grand Cayman also sees services to the US operated by American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue Airways, United Airlines, and Southwest Airlines.

For its part, Denver does not currently have any non-stop scheduled services to the Caribbean.
